IMPORTANT: Before making an appointment, please read the following.
Due to the high demand for consultations, we have limits on the number of consultations students may book.
- Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students may book six appointments per semester and
- Higher degree by research (HDR) students may book six appointments per term.
This limit applies regardless of whether you book a 30-minute or 60-minute appointment - they are counted equally.
You have the option of selecting a consultation mode from face-to-face (in person), phone, or email. Note that Canberra-based undergraduate and HDR students are expected to attend face-to-face consultations, although undergraduate students may book phone or email consultations outside of teaching/exam time when they are away from Canberra.
- Learning Advisors are educators not editors. They can provide advice and feedback on course-related tasks, the requirements of research degrees, research articles and academic presentation/pronunciation skills. Advisors cannot be booked for advice on tasks not directly related to your studies.
- Information for HDRs, postgraduate students, and undergraduates writing long reports and theses: if possible, please upload your written work 24 hours before your consultation. However, be aware that your Advisor may not be able to read your draft before your consultation time, or may choose to read your work as they talk with you during the appointment. Postgraduate coursework students should include the name of their course, the assignment instructions and the word limit. If you would like to submit more than one document (for example, the assignment task and rubric) please email your work to KnowALL@adfa.edu.au, noting the name of the Advisor your appointment is booked with.
